Sound Samples
Full-resolution immersive recordings from Sound Sleuth projects. Stereo playback uses channels 1 and 2 of the immersive master. On supported Chrome systems with a 12-channel output device, the same page can play the native 7.1.4 WAV.
Browser audio check
Chrome exposes the maximum number of output channels available to the browser. A 12-channel result means the hardware path is capable of native 7.1.4 output; browser support can still vary by Chrome version.

A large-space recording chosen to show scale, reverberation and the way sustained organ energy fills the height and surround channels. The recording was with an ORTF pair of Serena microphones, two Serena’s as outriggers and an Omni ESMA3D array.

A moving, high-energy source that makes spatial direction and front-to-back motion easy to hear. The 4.0.4 program is carried in a standards-labeled 12-channel 7.1.4 WAV with the unused positions silent. This was recorded with 4 Tabitha MS microphones in a quad array as described in my AES paper, in a X configuration forming a 35cm square arrangement.

A dense musical source with strong spatial movement and room interaction, presented as the full twelve-channel 7.1.4 mix. This recording had two Hammond Organ each feeding two Leslie speakers. Each speaker had a Tabitha MS microphone with the side capsules facing up and down. There are additional Serena microphones in the room including Maurice, the compact ORTF3D array.

Playback format
For now, stereo playback is simply channels 1 and 2 — the Left and Right front channels — from the immersive mix. It is not a binaural render.
The multichannel masters are 24-bit / 48 kHz PCM WAV files with an explicit WAVE_FORMAT_EXTENSIBLE 7.1.4 speaker layout for browsers and compatible hardware.
Where available, the original second-order B-format file is offered separately as 2OA, 9-channel, ACN/SN3D for decoding and experimentation.
